About Us
Grandma’s Place opened in 2009 and features both a Kindy Wing catering for children in the two years before starting school, and a First Three Years Wing caring for younger children and babies.
Grandma’s Place is proudly owned and operated by a local family, with Jane Bobbermein as the service’s Manager. Jane’s mum Judy Hawkins was Grandma’s Place inaugural Director and retired in 2020, but is still a much loved part of the social fabric of Grandma’s Place.
Being a family-owned kindergarten and early learning service, Grandma’s Place focus is less corporate and more family friendly. Quality care and outcomes for children has been our highest priority right from initial planning, and we’ve drawn from international best practice to continue to evolve and grow the right early childhood and kindergarten service for Sarina.
Our Team
Grandma’s Place has a highly qualified team with four qualified Teachers and a majority of Educators at Diploma level. We are also supported by a wonderful team of chefs, administrators and maintenance people.
It’s rare to find such a concentration of highly qualified Teachers and experienced Educators and we are collectively very proud of the quality early learning program this team is able to provide for your child.
Quality care and early learning for children has always been our highest priority and we’ve drawn from international best practices to build holistic programs.
Our Community
Sarina has a wonderful sense of community and Grandma’s Place enjoys being part of, and contributing to, this social fabric. As a family-owned Kindergarten and child care service, Grandma’s Place understands the importance of being family-friendly and aims to provide a completely family friendly space in the community.
